The Written Word

I heard a story on KLove this morning.  I didn't catch it all but this is what I did get.

There were 2 ladies who in their much younger days had become pen pals.  They have remained pen pals for many, many years - having never met.  They had just recently gotten together for the very first time.  After their meeting, someone asked them if they had thought about Facebook, email, etc.  One of the ladies responded that they would rather keep writing letters.  She said, "There is power in the written word."

That really spoke to me.  Of course, when I think of the written word, I think - the written Word.  But that is not what she was talking about.  However, I believe The Lord used what she said to answer a prayer for me.  I had been wondering what is the best way to reach people.  I haven't been very consistent in keeping a blog and I have never written anything else of great significance except my journal (which is also sporadic).  But "there is power in the written word" just stayed in my mind today.  I said it out loud a few times.  I know there is MUCH power in the written Word of God.  I believe these ladies knew that as well.  But I also believe there is power in the written word - period.  Good word and maybe not so good word.  So, I am going to continue praying about how God wants me to reach people and in the meantime, I am going to begin writing whatever The Lord lays on my heart to write.  My blog, my journal, wherever He leads - I want to follow.
